CRK Scouts take top honors in NRA Postal Match
What, you ask? Win National positions in the BSA-NRA Scout Camp Postal match?
Thatís right, for the Tenth year running The rifle merit badge shooters at CRK have competed with scouts from other camps via the postal matches and each had finishers at the national level. This past camping season two seniors and three juniors scored high enough to win BSA-NRA National Recognition Placards.
In the senior division the 2nd place winner nationally, with a score of 193 out of 200, was Nestor Walker of Troop 944 from Kernersville, N.C. In 3rd place with a score of 192 was Tyler Jobe of Troop 350 from Raleigh N.C.
In the junior division the 1st place winner nationally, with a score of 97 out of 100, was Mitchell Gebel of Troop 26 from Columbia, S.C. The 2nd place junior, with a score of 96, was Charlie Crandall of Troop 541 from Mt. Airy, N.C. And in 3rd place, with a score of 95, was Ben Alderman of Troop 409 from King, N.C.
Two additional award winners were recognized for being the highest senior and junior at Camp Raven Knob for the summer, after the national winners. They were recognized with a Camp Champion belt buckle, they are: Eric Vozzo, who is the senior champion with a score of 190, from Troop 398 of Raleigh, N.C. and the junior champion with a score of 95 is Ritchie Corban from Troop 597 of Jacksonville, N.C.
These Scouts should be congratulated on their fine performance and their upholding Camp Raven Knobs tradition of shooting excellence.
